Lampara came out of a season Bonnie spent in Mallorca: dusty ground, hallowed archways, long tables and small oil lamps. The series returns again and again to the same handful of symbols — chairs, lamps, oil and wicks — drawn in warm terracotta over a soft, chalky ground.
