What we collect

We only collect information we actually need. Depending on how you use our site, that may include:

  • Contact details — name, email address, phone number, delivery and billing addresses.
  • Order information — what you bought, order value, delivery details and order history.
  • Payment information — processed securely by our payment providers. We never see or store your full card number.
  • Account information — if you create an account, your login details and saved preferences.
  • Communications — emails, live chat messages, product reviews and enquiries you send us.
  • Site usage — pages viewed, products browsed, device and browser type, approximate location (from IP address), and how you arrived at our site.
  • Virtual styling tool information — see the dedicated section below.

How we collect it

Most information is provided directly by you — when you place an order, create an account, subscribe to our emails, save a design, write a review, or contact us. Some is collected automatically through cookies and similar technologies when you browse.

Our virtual styling tools

Our styling tools (gallery wall, cushion, mirror, lighting, locker, art and framing visualisers) let you arrange products in a room before you buy.

  • Your design is composed in your own browser. If you choose to have it emailed to you, we collect your email address along with the products, sizes and finishes you selected.
  • If you email yourself a design, a picture of it is saved so it can be shown in that email. These images are stored for approximately 180 days and then deleted automatically.
  • If you upload a photo of your own room, wall or sofa, that photo stays on your own device. It is not uploaded to us and we cannot see it.
  • Using a tool without entering your email address does not create a marketing subscription.

Why we use your information

  • To process, deliver and support your orders, including returns and warranty claims.
  • To answer your questions and provide customer service.
  • To send you the design you asked us to email you.
  • To send marketing emails and, where you have opted in, other updates about new arrivals, styling ideas and sales.
  • To improve our products, website and styling tools, and to understand which parts are useful.
  • To detect and prevent fraud, and to meet our legal and tax obligations.

Marketing — and how to stop it

We will only send you marketing emails where you have subscribed, asked us to email you a design, or otherwise consented. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes effect immediately. You can also email info@norsu.com.au and we will remove you.

Unsubscribing from marketing does not stop transactional messages such as order confirmations and shipping notifications.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run the business, and only so far as they need it to do that job. These include providers of:

  • e-commerce hosting and payment processing (including Shopify and its payment partners);
  • email marketing (including Klaviyo);
  • image hosting for saved designs (including Cloudflare);
  • delivery and freight carriers;
  • live chat, product reviews, loyalty and returns management;
  • analytics and advertising measurement.

We may also disclose information where required by law, or to protect our rights, property or safety.

Overseas disclosure

Some of our providers store data outside Australia, including in the United States and the European Union. Where we disclose information overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.

Cookies and tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep your cart working, remember your preferences, understand how the site is used, and measure our advertising. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some parts of the site may not work properly if you do.

Keeping your information secure

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access or disclosure. Our site uses encryption (HTTPS), and payments are handled by PCI-DSS compliant providers. No system can be guaranteed completely secure, but we work to protect your information and to respond quickly if something goes wrong.

Your rights

You can ask us to:

  • access the personal information we hold about you;
  • correct anything inaccurate or out of date;
  • delete your information, where we are not required to keep it;
  • stop sending you marketing.

Email info@norsu.com.au and we will respond within a reasonable time. We may need to verify your identity first.

Children

Our site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version will always be available on this page, with the date it was last updated shown at the top.

Questions or complaints

If you have a question or are concerned about how we have handled your personal information, please contact us at info@norsu.com.au or (03) 8840 8855. We take complaints seriously and will work with you to resolve them.
