From the moment you slide open the custom white powder coated glass steel doors to this formal sitting space, you know you’re entering the ‘good room’.

Our client was after a formal sitting room as an additional living space in the home but was clear that the room was to feel elevated but also very 'welcoming and warm'.

Our norsu Design team delivered a room that offers clever space usage and bespoke storage style with elegant golden touches and oak elements for warmth. Read on to discover designer tips and tricks as well as exact products used in this formal sitting room.

The built in joinery and oak shelves beside the fireplace is a grounding feature that makes such subtle impact. Again using the soft grey tone cabinetry featured elsewhere through the home, this time we added leather pull handles for an added textural effect.

Ample shelving means ample styling opportunities, so decorative and functional pieces like vases and vessels can be on display, with plenty of room left for your photos and books.

Creating a stunning moment down the hallway, the custom powder coated steel doors are also extremely practical. The sliding doors allowed room for a larger lounge and, being glass, all of the natural light from the sky lights in the hall flood straight into this room. Another benefit the doors add is of course noise reduction.

This room has touches of gold, marble and boucle that work together to bring elegance to this space. Tying in with the gold from the artwork, we’ve included the Soren Floor Lamp with it’s golden stem and Black Blaze Fountain Brass Candle Holders. As for the seating, we couldn’t go past the Kennedy Tenner occasional chair in boucle for modern elegance and our own norsuHOME sofa for the perfect minimal and timeless look.
