We recently had the pleasure of styling up a storm at the new Lowe Living Sera Brighton Display Apartment.
Many of you will remember our sweet little norsu Hampton Pop-up store which we opened with our friends Tim & Emma Lowe from Lowe Living in late 2021, sharing six months of fun at their Hampton Hill development site - and we were delighted to partner with them again on this exciting project.
The Sera development is an exclusive collection of 13 residences presented by Lowe Living, alongside architects Warren and Mahoney, interiors envisioned with Bec Judd and landscaping by Jack Merlo. Inside Sera, you'll find an abundance of natural finishes, including European Oak flooring, stunning Grey Tundra marble benchtops and finishes, graphite tapware, custom arch detailing, divine Oak cabinetry throughout by Hawkfine and furniture supplied by GlobeWest.
We sat down with the team at Lowe Living recently to share our process of styling this beautiful space...

What influenced/inspired your selected pieces when pulling together items for the Sera display apartment.
We were very conscious that Lowe Living have a particular look and feel within the styling of their other display suites, so wanted to respect that when it came to selecting items that were pared back, minimal and neutral.
We also considered the location - being seaside - we were careful to select mostly neutral items that complimented the gorgeous finishes that had been selected in the build such as sophisticated neutral timbers and tundra marble. When selecting styling objects - it is imperative they compliment the finishes to bring the space to life.
When it came to incorporating colour, we took our inspiration from the stunning colourful artwork by Antionette Ferwerda. At norsu, we are known for our signature pastel palette, so we were careful to select objects from our collection that worked cohesively with Antoinette's art.
It was a balance to ensure the styling complimented a combination of both the finishes and the artwork.
What is one the most important considerations needed when someone is choosing styling for their home?
Our norsu Design Senior Interior Designer Lauren Bartlett-Bragg suggests selecting items that sing to your personality.
"Work out what you love, and what objects make you feel at home, and start from there. Everyone relates to different things, so we always start with this layer, and build the styling objects and selections around it.'
For us at norsu, it's all about the 'feeling' you get when you step inside your home. Your space needs to feel like you're being wrapped up in big warm hug the moment you walk into the door, and selecting personal items with meaning is the best way to do this.
How did you bring the vision of Sera Brighton display to life?
The finishes in this apartment are so incredibly beautiful, we were intentional in selecting objects that didn't compete with them in any way, but rather complimented them and added the 'final layer'.
We specifically selected objects that not only look at home in the space, but also show visitors how the apartment will be used.
From the practical objects such as the Menu Grinders in the kitchen, to the carefully curated cushions in each space, it's this layer that tells the story, and leaves visitors dreaming of how they would live in the space.
